Studio Announces Burleson Premiere #1 Theatre in the U.S. for "Save a Life"

It was just another day at the movies until Samuel Goldwyn Studios called Burleson Premiere congratulating them for having "by far" the highest attendance in the U.S. for the world premiere of their new film, "To Save A Life" which opened January 22nd in theatres nationwide.

The event drew thousands, and was remarkable enough to garner coverage by the L.A. Times and Forbes, putting Burleson squarely on the Hollywood studio radar. The stars of the film and the screenwriter all flew in from Hollywood and turned up the heat meeting and mixing with local movie-goers, posing for photographs, and graciously signing thousands of autographs.

"It's a great week for Burleson to know that so many people turned out to support this film," said Premiere Director Mike Harris.

Staging the world premiere in such spectacular fashion was the brainchild of local citizens including members of the Student Discipleship and the LINC, the local organization of youth pastors, which got some help from The Christian Heritage Foundation of Johnson County.

"It was truly a collaborative event," said area pastor, Billy Breacham of the turnout. "All of the guests from Los Angeles said it was by far the best premiere of a movie they had ever seen. We were shocked to hear such a compliment!"

The movie chronicles popular athlete Jake Taylor who has everything going for him until his world is rocked by the death of a childhood friend, causing him to begin questioning everything.

Burleson movie-goer Kelly Franklin was touched by the film's message stating "I will never forget this movie".

Alvarado customer Mary Rambo added "I loved this film. It opens your eyes to the realities of life."

"It was an incredible experience," proclaimed Henry Brown of the Student Discipleship, speaking of the incredible turnout and enthusiastic reception for the world premiere.

Facebook fanatics agreed, as the movie added 30,000 new fans this week, bringing its total fan base to over 90,000, said Mr. Breacham.

The movie's stars who showed up at the Burleson Premiere included Randy Wayne (Jake), Robert Bailey, Jr. (Roger), Kim Hidalgo (Andrea), Josh Weigel (Chris), Steven Crowder (Doug), Trinity Scott (Kelsi) and Jim & Rachel Britts (Writer/Producer & Production Designer).
