Temple gets Central-Texas' only 100% pure digital cinema!

Premiere Cinema 16 announced today it has completed converting its Temple Mall stadium cinema to 100% digital projection, making Premiere the only theatre in Central Texas to be 100% pure digital!

"No other theatre in the area is all-digital," said Premiere's local area director Cindy Palmer. "Waco, Killeen, Harker Heights, not even Austin has a 100% digital cinema, Temple is the only one."

Ms. Palmer, herself a 20-year veteran of the cinema industry, says the response has been overwhelming. "We've remodeled the cinema recently but the positive comments for that paled in comparison to those we've gotten on digital," she emphasized. "I think that once you experience a film in digital projection you won't go to a film theatre again."

Customers lined up this weekend to see first-hand the digital difference. Movie-goer Fred Sanders and his family were still talking about it in the Mall. "We knew as soon as the previews started something was really different, it was just this exceptional picture quality like we've never seen at a theatre before," he said. "The detail is incredible. We'll be back, this is where we see our movies now."

According to Ms. Palmer, cinemas have been using essentially the same film projection technology for over a century, running 35mm filmstrips through a mechanical projector and shining a light through it to project the image onto a screen. "When you blow up a one-inch image from film to 40' wide on a screen, you're obviously going to have some focus degradation along the way, but with digital that's not the case, the image is clear, its bright, it's just pretty much perfect and should be every time."
