Premiere Cinemas is having a Food Drive for area customers on Tuesday November 13th benefitting the Alvin Food Pantry. Company spokesperson Tara Feller explains that it's a chance to help those in need in the Alvin area.

"If you bring four non-perishable food items to the cinema, we'll buy your movie ticket for you" said Ms. Feller. "We hope to receive several hundred non-perishable items to donate to the Food Pantry to help them kick off their holiday food drive," she said. "Their food needs really peak this time of year and we always try to do our part to help them during the holidays."

Ms. Feller also stated that she has teamed up with the U.S. Marines to be a designated Toys For Tots drop-off location this year. Toys for Tots benefits needy children throughout the Houston-area, and local residents are encouraged to drop off toys, whether new or used, at Alvin's Premiere Cinema located at 324 House Street through December 13. The cinema will then transport all the donated toys to the Houston distribution center.
