Premiere and Colonial Team Up For New Premiere at Colonial Promenade Tannehill

Premiere Cinema Corp. announced today commencement of construction at the Colonial Promenade Tannehill Shopping Center between Birmingham and Bessemer, Alabama, of a magnificent new 53,000 sf 14-plex Premiere Cinema complex. The new facility is an anchor to the 550,000 square foot Promenade Shopping Center which also includes Target, J.C. Penney, Publix, Best Buy, Ross, and other retailers and restaurants. The Promenade is the only major shopping destination serving Birmingham's fastest-growing residential housing destination in this region of the state.
This marks the fourth development between Colonial and Premiere, with their three prior projects all having enjoyed considerable success. "We've worked with Premiere for years and know what they bring to the table," said Colonial Properties Trust V.P. Bill Leitner. "We couldn't be happier to have them in our new center here."
Both Target and J.C. Penney are on aggressive growth grids and were instrumental in helping Colonial select the perfect site for their new stores. "We all recognized this was Birmingham's fastest-growing residential area," added Leitner. "The retailers fell into place quickly and a cinema was a natural addition. Premiere will serve the over 100,000 residents living in the immediate area who now have to drive twenty or thirty minutes into Birmingham to see a movie."
The Premiere project fronts I-459 and features all stadium seating, plush high-back rocking love-seats, leather sofas, wall-to-wall screens, enhanced food and beverage menus, party facilities and Premiere's Hollywood murals and decor. The theatre will open in July 2008 with 14-screens and 2,465 seats.
